What Is a Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practices?

Good manufacturing practices ensure that cosmetic and personal care products are manufactured with approved ingredients, under specific hygiene conditions, and with adequate documentation of all ingredients, processes, distribution, and packaging. Many importers need a certificate to ensure good manufacturing before importing products.

Companies that can document compliance with good manufacturing practices can issue a certificate of good manufacturing practices (GMP), such as those established by the U.S. FDA, U.S. government health agencies, or any other set of standards.

Most countries prefer GMP certificates to be issued by a trade association such as the ACMA.
